When Voigtlander announced the 65 APO I knew immediately I would own it, as I have a love for all things macro. It seemed perfect for me on paper and the reviews were all stellar. The reality is that it's taking me a while to get a feel for where it fits in. I'm more accustomed to a 100mm macro lens in my bag, though it does pair nicely with a 35mm prime.
Still, it is hard to find any real fault with the lens and I think I just need to find more time to get acquainted with it (should be no problem for a new dad...).
This is wide open on an original A7. Can we start calling it "classic" yet? It sounds fancier.
Sunrise, Okavango Delta, Botswana.
The Sunsets and Sunrises on the Delta were always very colorful due to the moisture that was coming up through the sand (blown in from the Kalahari desert over many years). There a lot of moisture, close to the ground, due to the high water table in the Delta. That, plus desert dust made for red suns.
The tele was used for this "landscape".
Edit: Sorry for the edits, experimenting with frames and brightness..
I was lucky to stop over in Tuscany and visit family while in Europe for a conference, and I was excited to try my hand at some of those classic Tuscan scenes that Werner does such a good job with.
Sadly I wasn't able to get any mornings to go out shooting, so this mid-morning photo is my best go. This is looking out from montecatini alto.
