small experience report with the A7R III and the 24-70 GM in extreme humidity. a few days ago on a hike in the Twannbach gorge, switzerland. it was raining like hell. 27 degrees Celsius and close to 100% humidity. the camera and the lens were protected by my poncho. Clear drops of rain were on the equipment. Above all, the equipment was wet by the exreme moisture. stay in the area was about 2 hours. the camera worked perfectly. but when leaving the gorge. and the forest. within seconds the sun was there. you know that. the device was fogged within seconds. So clean the lens of the GM. but on the pictures was still a fog. (last two pictures). I noticed, even the glass elements in the lens were totally foggy. also the seeker of the R III was foggy inside. After approx. 30 minutes of sun exposure, there was a clear view again. The device has otherwise worked without problems.
i hope you can follow my beginner english. gladly also your experiences with such conditions.

Very nice shots, René, despite the heat and humidity.
Did your gear dry out properly, without any damage?
I'm not a fan of that sort of weather. My rule of thumb is that if I am not comfortable in certain weather or temperature, then my gear is probably uncomfortable too and in danger.
Sony bodies and lenses are much more liable to moisture and impact than my Canon and Nikon bodies. One of the downsides we pay for the upsides of Sony imaging. It is a choice of the right tool for the job at hand.

thanks for the very nice comment Jim. so far everything works perfectly. Water damage is well known after a certain time. will see. luckily have a 5 year warranty. cover all damage. even if the camera would fall into the water. :-) think synonymous, the Sony E system is not quite so robust. but all those years I did not have any problems with the Sony E camera because of the weather. the cameras will not spare. And I use them, no matter what the surroundings look like. I was amazed only over the foggy seeker. and the glass elements in the GM. Do not think that dampness has penetrated. think that was a reaction of the extreme conditions. But I like to learn more from technically advanced photographers.
