Gorgeous! Thx for sharing. A query: How can it be at F1.7 if the lens' max aperture is 1.8?
Good point, Stephen! Yup, I saw that on the display on the camera during the actual session itself. It has to do with the Metabones version V's way of transferring the exif data. The exif data was displayed correctly at f/1.8 with the Metabones version IV. I don't know what causes the difference though...
Hey, maybe it is the fastest 135mm in the world as of right now at f/1.7 due to the larger throat opening of the version V .
Great capture, Douglas! I love the soft light of the low setting sun and the reflection. What are the blue patches/areas at the water edge there? Just curious...

Thank you, Joshua! This was shot at 220mm. I think the blue patches are just reflection from the algae on the surface of the lake, there are lots of them. If I had used a CPL, it probably wouldn't have shown that.

How's the performance on the UWC converter?
It works well for short distances like the image above. It reduces the MFD of the FE28/2 down to about 8 inches. In this type of use it's pretty sharp and has good contrast, and flare doesn't seem to be too much of a problem. For use at or near infinity, i would say it's pretty mediocre. Edge sharpness even stopped down never achieves a really high level. The FE28/2 already has a lot of barrel distortion, which the UWC further magnifies. Here's a couple other shots with the UWC.
Coming to see the 55/1.8 as a kind of documentary landscape lens, hard not to find space and time for it. A snapshot of the 'drive' along the Sutlej Valley in Kinnaur. One of the safest parts of the journey, lol.
f7.1, mindful of diffraction and early fade off of the 55mm
