Fantastic shots everyone !
Really nice spider Joshua..I don't like them
Thank you, Ronny! And yes, I do not particularly like spiders either but it was quite fascinating to take pictures of them, especially not a pet or at the zoo since there was a little bit of adventurous element doing that.

Joshua, you had that thing in the back yard! you're braver than I. The portraits are stunning by the way
Yup, that's first arachnid encounter here in California and that in my backyard, too . Well, I didn't feel that threatened. Thank you for your compliment on the portraits...

I would prefer images like this one, too and I know, unlike the tarantula, she won't bite . I am a little hesitant of posting this. I hope you guys do not find this image offensive...

Thanks! Yes, Jenni is really doing well with the FE 24-240. She seldom deviates from f/8 which is a sweet spot on this lens and she has a great eye for composition. I wish I had her eye.
The 24-70 GM is the real deal for me. it is fast enough for most occasions. It is totally usable at all focal lengths and never lets me down. It never makes me think I missed a shot because I didn't have the right prime lens, or that I obtained inferior results from a zoom lens. I might do slightly better with a prime at any given focal length, but my guess is that I would miss more shots because I failed to bring the right lens than I would gain by having the perfect lens.
Here are a few of the shots of the interior of the Hoquiam Castle, featuring the top floor ball room with raised band stage and the stairway down to the second floor of the house, as well as the private bar in the adjoining room.
A couple more shots of the bar, featuring the house's owner and dog (with a nice selfie in the bar mirror! No place to hide!). Individual tours offered for a minor donation collected for her church's charity. Very nice lady at 88 years young.
