Many thanks Peire for the terrific images.
The first one is my favorite.
I like the composition, colors, lighting, and the bokeh, in particular how in the transition zone the foreground blends into the background.

Thank you Karl-Heinz.I am glad that they draw your attention.
In case you're not familiar, quick and easy decentering test here. http://blog.kasson.com/the-last-word/simple-decentering-test/ I think I even saw a very slight decentering with my 16-35 but never seen ill effects from it while shooting in the real world. Doesn't tell you how it fares optically, but it'll tell you if it's a lemon.
My thin filter B+W Cir Pol works well on the 16-35, don't see any ill effects. Tried a Cokin previously that ghosted pretty bad.

Have trouble seeing and knowing how to test it properly
But what I saw after the first round of tests, I think it looks okay ..
the corner is not 100%, even with small aperture
But I can not see any big differences on the left and the right side anyway and at different focal lengths
Knowing that it's should be as good as Loxia 21 on 21mm it's not ...I would not have expected that either
It is much easier to use as all-round lens on landscape ..So there are benefits
But in fact I have tested far too little to have any opinion ...Show more →
Finally, I had the chance to try out the new FE 12-24mm out for a real-life shoot at the Getty Center, among others, yesterday. To say it in a few words, I am pleased . Well, I used the sweet spot on an aperture setting though.
Way to early to say something substantial about this lens. I like the size...
The 100-400 GM arrived as well - no shots so far - but the lens is very nice, smaller then the 70-400 A-mont and great stabilisation, will see....

The 12-24 looks good Joshua, nice shot !
Inferno is superbe , Roland !
Thank you, Werner! The 16-35mm GM lens for sure delivers, Werner but let's be honest, every lens does in your capable hands! I am looking forward to more images not only taken with the 16-35mm GM but also with the new 100-400mm GM.

Here is another image from the 12-24mm from a different location. It took me 1.5 hours to get to this spot. Just FYI, without traffic, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes from where I was. Ouch....
Great shot Joshua, my beloved LA downtown with the Bonaventure !
Used to live about 45 min from there (in O.C.) in good traffic conditions, that was until the mid 90's. May have changed to the worse...
Shots will come with the new lenses, it takes me quite some time to get used to a new lens and i never make early verdicts ... right now we have really horrible weather would prefer SC a lot.

Werner congrat to the GM
Today in the shop in the city and the FE12-24 picked up. Attached to the A7R II and fixed to 12mm. Finally, you buy such an objective, to make with 12mm pictures. It feels very good. A wonderful unity. Up to now 16mm were the maximum in focal range. First look through the seeker. Wow is that wide! to wide? I stood on the street and thought. What should I do with 12mm? I'm not really the wide angle type. First try and .. hmmmm that is extremely difficult. My first thought was not: is the lens sharp? Is it decentered? No! I felt really lost with the 12mm. Like a human being who first tries to make a picture. awful. My most used key was the delete button. Enclosed some of my attempts. The street trials with 12mm had to be made naturally in the mode silent. You stand at 12mm almost on the feet of the person :-) will I and the FE12-24 friends? no idea. But it was a good experience. And shows once more, my can be far away from the maximum what the camera technology offers. (Excuses my inedible english
There's not much beauty in this scene, however ..... A study in the use of Community Space.

At first glance this typical Shanghai backstreet looks chaotic, but look closer ..... every nook and cranny is being cleverly utilised. Of course the motorbikes and bicycles are obvious in their lining of the street, but there's still room for a chair and flowers for an elderly couple to enjoy sitting outside of their tiny abode and watch the world go by.
In between the drain pipes, air conditioners and mass of wires the walls have instructional posters from the authorities and hooks have been inserted to hang household cleaning items. The window shelves hold assorted items and the bamboo poles strung across the lane will, during the day, have clothes hung up to dry in the sun and warm air.
All that and there's still room for the tenants to try to add a little greenery to the lane to colour and brighten the scene.

Some of the shots that I took in NYC a couple of weeks ago for my daughter and her Fiancé for their engagement album and save the date card.
I primarily used my FE 50 f/1.4 ZA but took some with the Basis 85 and FE 35 f/2.8.

Excellent job Chuck. I'm sure they'll be thrilled with those !

René, I always admire your wonderful images. But the image of the metzgerei in the Altstadt is for sure interesting. I am referring to the signs they displayed out there, such as Ochsenmaul, China Topf, Beef Bison, etc. Great job!

+1 And they are a great looking couple! I love the image inside the Grand Station that you converted into B&W except for the couple. Excellent job!
I don't usually put work on here, but I like how these came out. I used to shoot with Nikon DSLRs and couldn't imagine ever going back. Sony makes life significantly easier.
Thanks a lot, the image was actually taken in a landscape park which also includes some industrial heritage. Some more background info is at http://m.en.landschaftspark.de/the-park
