Joshua - Wonderful portrait. I would be interested in your thoughts on the Sigma 135/1.8 Art. I've been thinking about that lens . . .
Thank you, Bob! I sent you a PM regarding that.

Thank you, Ronny! You have become a great portrait photographer now, Ronny !
Bokeh galore at wide open.... As matter of fact, I didn't shoot at any other aperture during the entire session .
Went out to the Huntington Library and Gardens today with my protege and partner-in-crime (he's really fallen under the Sony spell!). I borrowed his 24-70 GM and Batis 25 a little bit and let him use my Loxia 21. In addition, I also brought the Loxia 35 and Leica R 60/2.8 macro.
Starting what will likely be a long-term and slow project about being queer in Alabama (and the deep south generally). Partially because I've found that photography can actually help me deal with and contextualize my emotions, which is important for me now that I'm here. Not sure it's of much artistic merit, but I did express something. I inverted the saying to emphasize the part that has the most impact.
A little description: "the words I wrote on myself are ones that have followed me for a long time. They pop out of people’s mouths, even those that think they are being reassuring. Since moving to Alabama, I hear them a lot more. I can’t lie and say that it doesn’t bother me, these words are connected to so much discrimination that the queer community experiences. But the queer people aren’t alone, most likely all of us carry words or thoughts that seem to pop up at the most inopportune time, over and over again."

As you know, I like Contax C/Y lenses and bought several of them on your advice. You have shown time and time again that it's possible to get excellent results using 20-30-year-old optics when combined with a Sona A7 camera and your photographic skills. Thank you and show us some more.

Yes,I prefer older lenses for many reasons. Most of all for their character, which is the result of optical quality, including flaws. And for their humble lack of pretentiousness in look.
Newest lenses are not sexy to me at all.I appreciate their superb performance, but size, weight and price make me often confused.
