Just drove down yesterday from fixer-upper home in Aberdeen, WA, to my home in Simi Valley, CA. Nice little 16.5 hour jaunt!
Uploaded my images -- now the work begins.
Starting off with a pleasant shot of a home owner I met, Michelle, raking leaves and fir cones as I wandered her neighborhood taking pictures of the homes and ambiance.
Yes, the sun does shine there occasionally, between the rain. I look forward to those days to take photos around town or take short trips.
This photo is the first published with the Loxia 35/2, purchased from Chuck Coyne, and shipped to me there. The trip became an extended courtship with the lens, which I like very much.
This particular picture is not really a test of the lenses qualities, being shot in extremely challenging lighting. But even here, I think it lends a charm and feel that captures the sponteneity of the moment.
Canon 50/1.2L, wide open, Sigma MC-11, hand held, LRCC -- minimal PP: straightening and +.24 EV, no NR or WB correction.
Pre-show photo of my high school best friend, and father of the bass player in the headlining band (of five bands in the house party). Mike is a very talented guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, father to three sons who carry on the musical gene pool.
