Ronny, without any doubt you are a great manual focusing photographer
Super sharp FE90 at Zabriskie Point Death Valley... pity for the light that was harsh at that time but we had a great sunrise session at Sand Dunes before this
Werner, Xwing, ManuelLamantia beautiful landscapes this and prior page. Werner, in your image, the upper mountain peaks look almost as if they are floating... lovely trompe l'oeil effect.
Aztatlan, second image prior page is lovely in its subtlety. Vertical composition was nice choice.
Took a break from posting for a while to regroup and find a new rhythm...and to dodge the ridiculous amount of rain. Some impressionistic images...
Leitz Macro Elmar R 100/4.0 turned out to be better than expected. It is decently sharp across the frame wide open, very sharp stopped down to f8-11,doesn't matter the distance, renders deep, bold Leica colours and shows only minimal, easily removable LoCa wo.Out of focus blurr is smooth too.Perfectly usable as macro and general purpose short tele.Tested on a grey, poorly lihjted, gloomy winter day.

200 years ago Elk who summered around our valley migrated in the winter to lower elevations. They did not survive the mining boom. Elk were re-introduced in the 1930s. However they do not know how to migrate. Most winters it's really not a huge deal. This winter we have had continuous storms since early December.
This herd has some pathways plowed for them and they are fed. But many others in the valley are not in areas where they can be fed, so we have had many starve. Last season we also had very heavy snow and some elk died after eating Yew trees which are sold for landscaping. That was the first time anyone had heard of such a thing. About 11 elk were poisoned. I guess deer have no problem with Yew, or so people have told me.
