While I'm at it, here are some B&W shots, also from Lensbaby Sweet 50. I'm still not sure about this lens, but I have seen many beautiful, moody and evocative photos from other people, so I think it's a question of finding the right subjects and also practicing and more practicing... So far I have mostly tried various subjects to see how they turn out with the Lensbaby, but I think I need to get more creative. I'll give it more time and we'll see how it goes.
Still busy. Been spending a lot of time with a new-to-me Fuji X100S. Fun to have a 35mm compact, but not convinced yet. Doesn't hold a candle to the CV 35/1.7 + A7. Not that I expected it to, but still. Had to dig something up from that combo.
For most uses it is a no-issue and I think my enthusiasm for the lens was pretty evident in the review. Stopped down to f/8 it is a great performer for landscape photography.
Phillip,
I wonder if the field curvature of the CV 35/1.7 would be drastically reduced with a PCX 5m front-lens.

Thank you, Michael! Those are some awesome "apparition" - I love the sweeping movement there .
Thank you Manual and Joshua. I appreciate your kind remarks. I tried to capture the mood of the dance rather than just images of the dancer.
Here are two later in the show: The show featured a video artist who projected various backgrounds as well as images on the dancer herself, creating amazing visual effects.

I'll send it to Bastian next week who plans a comparison with the ZM35 so we won't have to wonder much longer. I already experimented with a 2.5 closeup lens and saw a significant flattening but I lost infinity focus even with my rather short adapter and that 2.5m lens is far too large for the tiny CV35.

Great pics Phillip, I can see you shot these with the VM 35 1.7, and it's also your review of this lens that scares me away with regards to pronounced field curvature....
Are you able to explain how I can avoid that/what I should look out for? Thanks.
it was Philip's review and Helena's pics that drew me to it. I am over the moon, it is a cracking lens and I've yet to be able to find the field curvature in my shots. I'm sure it's there occasionally - it's effect is just irrelevant (or non-existent) in most of my shots (mostly over 10m and shot at between f4 and f11, though at f1.7, used close up with the VME adapter, it's also very nice)

Two with the 1.4/85 GM. I am reading quite often, that f/1.4 is useless on a 85mm lens, especially in the Loxia discussions around the net. I have to disagree - this can be the special sauce for some images.

Taken FROM YOUR LIVING ROOM ?!?!?!
Well, I had to open the door to the backyard to take the glass pane out of the point of view .
Awesome images from Shanghai, Kevin!
Here is another image from Bosque, taken on the very first evening, which turned out to be the best weather-wise. This is facing east after sunset and the reflection of the reddish sky literally added warm and intense colors here of the nearby wildlife and surrounding vegetation while the sky already turned dark blue.
Me, I've been in the Netherlands this week for work. I've had some opportunity to get out take some pics but processing has been mostly limited to my iPad via LR Mobile. I finally got things synced with my desktop and using remote software, am able to run my resizing droplets and post here. It works quite well but not quite as well as sitting in front of my 27" monitor.
