Here are probably the last two images from White Pocket toward the end of our stay there, at least for the time being .
That GM lens is one of my favorites right now. Bob, I hope you feel the same way soon. It is big and not light-weight but it does perform superbly, I may say.
Joshua - I love what I'm seeing but it's been too damn cold to give this lens a proper run. It is big and heavy but I can see getting comfortable with it nonetheless. After all, it will replace at least three lenses in my bag (28, 35, 50). The images are beautiful, sharp and with a nice bokeh. Now I merely need some conditions that don't freeze off my body parts!

Hahaha, Bob, I understand your situation entirely. It has been raining here in Southern California for almost 24 hours but temperature-wise, it cannot be compared to Minnesota of course and I don't you in that respect . Still, I would prefer cold but dry weather conditions than wet, and drizzling the whole day.

Joshua, those are beautiful captures! Now you have me intrigued about the 24-70 GM lens.
Alfredo, now we are now talking like a true photographer that suffers from GAS . Seriouslyn though, that lens can replace a few prime lenses and at f/2.8it is still fast enough for low light shooting conditions, especially with the IBIS helping. Any resistance is futile....
Great images everyone. Here are a few from a Rainbow from a walk around Big Bear Lake this morning. Also trying On1 Photo Raw with a few presets and then using it to resize and export. Hopefully the file size loads ok for everyone.

A few from this morning on the way to work. Temperature -7F. As fast as I could, I got out of my car, fired off a few shots and got back inside!
Wow, you got rewarded for your frosty fingers I really like the last two shots here!

Beautiful images! I can understand both of you. I am still working on my review of that lens and finished the testing yesterday. Even after all of my analyses, I am largely impressed by that lens and I am happy to own it - even so much that I have built my kit around that lens now.

File size looks fine. Question re On1 Photo Raw. Are you using it as a LR/PS plugin or as a raw converter/processor? So far, I'm mostly using it as a plug in. I can't seem to get away from LR. How did you resize in On1?

Hmmm... don't turn on the gas again for that lens Jannik
I was done with the Contax
Great shots
Ronny, when I was in US using freehand this lens, I thought to sell it because it is really difficult to use, and I thought of you... then when I saw the results, I changed my mind and decided to keep it
Having said that, what I don't like of this lens is that the front lens is connected to the focusing system and, in particular at 300mm, it is very difficult to hold the focal point trying to hold at the same time camera and lens to avoid shaking.
Impressive images from everyone in the last pages... amazing!!!

Bob, I used it here as a standalone Raw Processor. I almost always used it as a plugin with LR but have installed LR on my Desktop and my MacBook Pro 15. I picked up a MacBook Air for travel and I'm trying On1 Pro RAW on it as a standalone program since LR license is used on the other two. On1 Raw is much better than the previous version now that you don't have to apply one module before jumping to another. (Develop to Effects to Resize etc.)
Enjoy the GM 24-70. I rented one for Cuba and ended up buying a copy soon after returning. It is definitely my most used lens especially for weddings and when I just want to carry one lens.
It's such an interesting and pleasant change to have an overcast and rainy day to photograph in So Cal! Much softer lighting, similar to Northern European areas.
Same set-up: a7R2, Canon 24-70/2.8L, Sigma MC-11, LRCC.
I am debating how to render this image and at the end, I ended up choosing the B&W rendition for this as it consists of shades of gray and yellow. This was captured fairly long after sunset at Pacific Grove. And it was just a regular single capture and no SRA. Please do not zoom in your view onto the couple and try to figure something out, OK? Thank you!
