Joshua, Phillip, Ronny, Werner, and singularity001! Really compelling images.

This lens produces some interesting atmosphere. Added quite a bit of contrast and Dehaze. Looks sort of like a film image, not that I was trying to duplicate the older medium.
I haven't done any portrait work in some time but my soon to be stepdaughter asked if I could take some shots for her and a partner. I have little equipment for this kind of thing but a white wall, work light, reflector and Nissin i40 flash did an admirable job I think!

Very beautiful photograph. Would you give some technical and practical details about how you made the image?
Thank you for the nice comment 'Chiron'
Is only a snapshot free hand. Processing RAW in LR and then converting to silver efex pro. Template 'film noire' but adapted to my needs. Then the last adjustments in LR. Duration of processing 1-2 minutes. (The computer is too slow)
Werner, Phillip, fantastic images. I wish I could magically transport to those scenes.
Happy New Year, all!!!
Holiday present Helios 40-2 (new production version) has turned out to be a lot of fun. It has very saturated colors and good enough sharpness in the focal plane that rapidly drops saturation in the background. The background can range from buttery smooth to busy / swirly, depending on its complexity and distance from subject.
It is a heavy lens for the a7 series, but the artistic feel of the images is full of possibilities.
This is a cross posted image--was playing with a new lens and despite not having much experience with portraits, I like how this came out. With A7r2, Loxia 85 F 2.4. I had my wife's nephew's girlfriend sit next to a window...

Jim, thank you very much for your flattering words!

Both are nice, and almost equally so. I prefer the streaks showing the explosiveness of the ocean, rather than the boil.
No wrong answer!
Thank you again for your kind comment, Jim!

Let's go back to some images from the French Estate and these are of Sabrina. I posted similar images but I don't believe these have been posted. If I did, I apologize.
Happy new year everyone! Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos.
The tree in the first shot is out of focus because I had accidentally opened the infinity lock on my V-ME adapter. The first time that has happened and hopefully the last...
Some info about the colorful clouds:
A rare phenomena that can occur in winter when there are strong winds in the mountains, driving moisture up into the stratosphere where it condenses into clouds. Since they are so high up and the sun is at a low angle in winter it can shine at them from below which gives these iridescent colors, like mother of pearl. Their wavy shape, created by strong winds, add to the surreal look.
