Quick out the window shot of flying over Greenland back to Seattle. 28 Otus (was the lens I had on when I made a clumsy overhead bin grab for my camera....
I remember that view back in the days when I was flying to Canada and the US,preceded if the weather was fine enough,by beautifull view of Norway's fjords.

Yes was so happy I peeked out the window. I started out with a few iphone clicks, then realized i needed my other camera.
In search of small, lightweight and flexible lenses with good IQ,that I can use on the way to work and back home,I have recently tried two older Canon zooms.
A7R (crop mode)+Canon EF IS USM 17-85/4-5.6
From 85 to 50mm IQ is very good, even wide open.Stop it down 1f between 50 and 24 to get same results. From 17 to 24mm - correct some CA,barrel distortion and stop down 1.5-2f stops for optimum performance. The weakest spot is 17mm,when the lens hood is advisible (see the last picture above).
A7R (crop mode)+Canon EF IS STM 55-250/4.5-5.6 MK1
No major complaints on this tiny, lightweight zoom with plastic bayonet mount and very good overall IQ.All that matched with desirable range,1m min focusing distance and smooth oof blurr.Just stop it down 1f stop from 135 to 200 and 1,5 f from 200 up to 250mm to get optimum IQ.
This is not the famous Ponte Vecchio in Florence ! It was actually shot from the same place (Ponte Santa Trinita) you'd probably shoot from for the Ponte Vecchio (which actually looked pretty boring this evening) but this is in the other direction and is in fact the Ponte alla Carraia.
