Looks like the colors will peak in about 2 weeks, at RickettS Glen SP, Tim? I was thinking of going there this Sunday but maybe I should wait a little longer.
I'm worried about wind on Sunday.....although who knows if we'll get rain next week. It may dry out too much. Like I said, I normally like to go in the 2 weeks starting on Columbus Day.
I thought about going Sunday, but can't swing it......so I'm convincing myself the wind would be a problem.
I would think mid to late next week the colors would be better.... You can see there is a little color starting in my pictures from last Sunday.

Nothing compared to tsdevine's shots above (really good, Tim!) but I was determined to get in a couple of waterfall shots even though it is early for fall color in NC. I am only here for a few more days, but will try to get a few more shots before I have to go back to the rat race. Here are two small waterfalls, Eastatoe and Bird Falls. These are done on my laptop so not sure about colors....
Eastatoe:
Leica M 28/1.4:
Bird Falls: I tried framing this several different ways. Here are two that are similar but I think I like the 35mm framing....
Eddie, I was talking about Batis 18 but probably I have a memory fault... I remember you have Batis 25 and 85 but was not sure about 18. BTW, great composition and colors as usual.

Ahh apologies, I see what you mean now. I've had the 18 for a while too. Thanks for the comment on the image, much appreciated

Went to a wonderful restaurant in Asheville, last night called Local Provisions. Lighting was, of course, low. Took a few pics mostly with my Leica 28 Summilux on Sony A7r2 which makes a pretty terrific low light lens and does a great job on food pics (a close focus adapter helps some too). Might even beat the iphone!

These are Georgia pecan truffles (had no idea these existed!) over fois gras:
I skipped several courses (9 different dishes I think!). Finally, one of the desserts (salt caramel, chocolate, cream, almond pudding) with a Loxia 50:
