A friend of mine in Washington recently purchased a portable sawmill to take advantage of some fallen maple trees on his property near Randle. It was pretty awesome to see it in action, with two of his husky friends assisting. Beautiful wood planks were the result, which could be made into furniture or cut down to smaller sizes. A pleasure to document the operation and see the result.
The tree chosen just barely fit, being at the maximum diameter. Larger trees he'd have to figure to to square them off before milling (chainsaws were used on this log numerous times to cut protrusions).

Not for me. There are a gazillion shots of fireworks without context. I much prefer these.
Maybe also try layers and brush in the fireworks from your multiple shots until you find the best mix.
Thanks.
Yeah layers would work if I decide to take the shots in that direction. If I'd had a longer zoom with me I'd have tried to get a couple of shots framing the tower/building right behind the fireworks, as it's glass facade could have given some interesting reflections of the fireworks. I am rather happy with the shots as they came out in the end the combination of city and fireworks does work well together.
