Thank you very much, Werner! You need to go back then by all means. The last time I was there was 16 years ago in the early stage of my digital photography.
Your image or images are definitely something else. Nice punchy red on this one!
This is after the sun disappeared behind the Sierras - the first one facing east (with SR app) and the second one facing west/north-west (3-shot HDR merged in LR).
This first one was with C/V 35 1.7 (new) without a tripod and with the camera propped up with pebbles and sticks on a convenient rock. With the camera being so close to the rocks there was obviously too much rock in the shot so I had to do a fairly severe rock crop!. It was also JPEG only because I hadn't twigged that you have to set up the app to record in RAW as well as selecting the normal camera RAW setting.
The second one is a bit over-cooked I think, too many exposures possibly, so I think I might try some "custom settings" next time. This was using the C/V 21 Ultron 1.8 on my miniature Novoflex tripod. My wife was swimming around close to the rock on the left and doesn't quite understand why she doesn't feature in the shot!
I feel like my A7II and 90mm 2.8 FE are a little overkill for my pen turnings, but I haven't been able to shoot as much lately. Anyway, this is a pen turned out of hard maple and acrylic that I made this evening.
Joshua, awesome shots The GM 24-70 is very tempting !!
Werner, great shots with the ZA 135/1.8 on the previous pages. Love the shot above of the locomotive!
Big Beach on the South side of Maui. Beautiful beach which stretches about a mile long. Great place to catch the sunset. This is looking the opposite way from the setting sun.

Thank you, Charles! The 24-70 GM lens is really an amazing performer. No ifs or buts about it, just a tad too heavy and too bulky.
Finally ditched my 16-35/4. I had a good copy but the images fro it just never did anything for me kind of bland. Ended up replacing it with a Batis 18 and 25. The 25 arrived this morning and the 18 will be here next week. First shot, A Framed Lilac as its called in Japanese taken on the 7r2 and the Batis 25 at f/2.8.
Happy to be back to all primes.
