The view from Glastonbury Torr in Somerset. The Torr itself (with its remains of a 14th century church) is very photogenic if you point the camera in the right direction from the right place at the right time of day. I didn't!
Really sweet OOF, johnahill - thank you. I often miss focus a little but find it matters less than many might think.
Here is a four legger defending his owner's scooter, he looked like he could kick some ass - CY 100/3.5, a7r. 100mm lenses work better with these kinds of subjects, lol.
This is my total "nerd out" gift to myself. An RS Prop Masters ANH (ABS) Stormtrooper Helmet.
If you're not familiar with this helmet, it's a first generation casting from a screen used A New Hope Helmet. It's as close as I'll ever get to owning a real piece of Star Wars/Cinema history. RS Prop Masters didn't clean their casting, or idealize the helmet. They left all the bumps and warts wonky shapes in tact. From the top down, you really get to see how warped these helmets were in the movie.
...My kiddos LOVE this helmet - maybe even more than I do.
Photo taken at 7:44 PM on June 7, 2015 of a Doe White Tail Deer giving the raspberry, Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image heavily cropped and taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 280mm f4 Apo Telyt lens with my Leica R 1.4X Apo Extender and my A7r; ISO 400, lens set to effective aperture of f8 at 1/160 second. Exposure corrected by -0.36 Stops and processed in LR6.
I picked up a Minolta MD 50/2 on recommendation from Phillip Reeve's site.
It seems like a very nice lens for stopped down work. Very sharp and very few aberrations. And the price is right.
Thank you Phillip.
Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 4/18 ZM @ f/11.0, HDR(1/25s, 1/100s, 1/400s), A7m @ ISO 100 - Widest lens I ever shoot nature with, no clue how to use this but maybe I learn...
