i understand the dilemma, i've gone through 30 or so fifties looking for one that i really like for both landscape and people/large aperture shooting. so far the rokkor is the only one i've used that seems versatile enough (the lux asph seems promising from my limited shooting, but only with the sensor mod). the problem with the rokkor of course, is that it's considerably bigger than my g45 and jupiter-3 combined.
Thank you sebboh and likewise! Yes, considering that 50mm is supposed to be one of the easiest focal lengths to manufacture it's surprising how hard it is to find a "50 to rule them all". Completely agree about the Rokkor 58. Only drawback besides size is that it's not very flare resistant. It's a keeper though. Of the ones I have tried so far I think the CV Nokton may be the best compromise for general walking around, for me.

Some "left-overs". Loxia 50 except the last which is from CV Nokton 50/1.5.
Like karambol above (welcome btw. and very nice first set) I'm quite fond of the Nokton. For many types of subjects I prefer it over the Loxia.
Not much of a car shooter, but thought I'd take a few snaps after getting my 1965 230SL back from the shop. Still trying to figure out the best angles and focal lengths. A7R2 with Canon nFD 28-85/4:

Beautiful set Peire! Snow, fog and orange leaves together is heaven for photography and you made the most of it.
While trying to decide what to do with my 50mm dilemma I went through some of CV 50/1.5 shots and found some older ones I haven't posted before (although a couple are similar):

Sorry guys, forgive my intrusion... have you tried the Zony FE55?!? Me too I prefer manual-mechanical lenses but the Mini-Otus is out the world... in my opinion

Really enjoyed shooting today with Zeiss G28, G45 and G90. Rendering styles of these lenses is very close to my preference. Hopefully G21 has similar rendering style. All have issues wide open (G28&G45 boke, G90 chromatic aberrations), but stopped down 1 stop as good as I can wish for.
Earlier when I was shooting with G28 it was really crappy light (>10000K) and got magenta color cast to corners & short sides. I had to develop similar method/script to CornerFix (it's not available to Linux). On today's photos there was no color cast. Weird...maybe the Kolari thin sensor cover glass does not filter UV-light enough to shoot in very crappy light. Good to find that on normal light this lens doesn't need colorcast fixing with Kolari 0.8mm v2.

As always, so much quality in this thread! After seeing some of the photos from Iceland, most recently Ronny´s beautiful beach shots, I cannot help think that that will be my next target for a holiday.
Just a couple of pictures that I took tonight, here in Oslo. Both are taken with Sony a7 and Loxia 21. I am so impressed by this lens.
Wonderful Cathedral shot Rene and this is probably the only opportunity any of us will ever have to say that your other recent shots have been rubbish! To avoid any risk of this being misconstrued I thought I would add a smiley face thing here but it keeps appearing in the wrong part of the message.
Just noticed the Tern shots Daniel, superb!
A few shots from this morning's dog walk. All with the C/Y 100 f3.5 on A7R2:
