I been really liking all those images people have been posting on the 85mm Batis...I just wish I could get my hands on hold of one... Seems like a unicorn lens...

Boring photo, but I love what this lens is able to do. I don't get a lot of use out of it, since I usually reach for something faster or smaller, but it's the one zoom that actually sees occasional use. Taken handheld in macro mode, I think at 1:4. Feel free to check out the full size.

Two resting cheetahs close to the road was possibly the climax of our 4 day safari in the Kruger Park. There is maybe 150 cheetahs in the 20 000 sq.km. park, so we were very lucky to be able to enjoy the sight of these elegant animals.
The closest cheetah was almost too close, all images uncropped:
A7rM and Summilux R 50 E55 *sigh* You do realize Gregg, you're going to force me to hunt down that lens now, even though I have the 55/1.8 --- blast you! (great images though). How does it perform mid-distance, maybe 20 feet away wide open?
Thanks Jeremy!! This lens is pretty good. Not as good as the Asph, that I had a little while ago, but for the price it's very nice. The previous R 40 E55 I had was spot on, and could shoot @f1.4 to infinity and still be sharp! This one I think has a smidge of de-centering, so I'm sending it off to DAG for a CLA. Plus, it's 30+ yrs old, so it won't hurt!
I just love the way this lens draws, though. Going through past images, I've taken some of my best with the previous one, so I thought I would try again.
