More car grabs, and the last is actually the Contax G45m
And if you are into really nice cars...look at the last garage pic...where do you think you would
ever see 3(!!!) Porsche 959 sitting next to each other!! And the dark blue car bottom left is a new
McLaren F1....it is SO GORGEOUS
Wow, so, uh whose are those? :-) (It's a P1 by the way, the F1 being the McLaren supercar from the 90s).
I haven't been active on the forum for ages, because I haven't been actively photographing for quite a while. But I'm getting at it again. Here's some recent stuff...
Edit: While the FE 55 is a "perfect" lens, optically, I'm very pleased with the performance of the little Konica 40/1.8 Hexanon. There is a massive curvature of field that makes it hard to use at large apertures, but the colors... They are just amazing! When shooting well stopped down, I see a good lot of "Zeissiness" in the images with high acutance. I actually prefer it over the Loxia 35. Perhaps the Konica would do even better on a Kolari modded camera.
And so, the OM 28/2. If any of my old legacy lenses have "Leica rendering" or "Leica colors", this is the one. Sure, the bokeh is chaotic and resolution declines rapidly towards the borders at anything wider than f/5.6. But the colors... As you can see in the image of the boat, it copes very well with backlit situations too.
I've thought about getting the FE 28/2, but I think I'll stick with the OM.
Page after page of excellence in this thread. Thanks for the inspiration!
It has done nothing but rain here in South Carolina for over a week, with cloudy skies and very little sunshine. Here are a few B&W images to match the skies...
This morning with the 135/3.4 APO Telyt on A7RII. Well stopped down to increase the shutter time to smear the waves in Puget Sound while looking out to the snowy Olympics. Pretty heavy crop from a single image.
