Greggf: Outstanding OOF and 3D pop with the Bokina.
Tim: Beautiful waterfall landscape shots there. How do you like the Batis compared to the trusty Pentax?
Werner: Excellent framing with the sunstar.
Bob: Great composition and wonderful colors in that frozen lake shot.
Rene: I really like the slightly dark mood in that lake shot on the previous page. Well done.
Ronny: Those shots with the fisheye are - as always - incredibly dramatic and nothing short of exceptional.
Please forgive me for posting a belated Christmas tree picture, but I haven't been able to shoot anything else last week. I have to say, though, that much criticized 35 1.4 has grown on me. Initially, I was skeptical whether I would keep it, but even though I'm still no fan of the size, I really like the way this lens renders.
Well Chris....I find I often tend to like my Pentax shots more than the Batis, but that may be more related to focal length than anything else. The Batis is obviously much more flexible given AF and its performance at wider apertures. Historically I've shot 21 and 28 (as well as 15) as my main landscape FLs...so maybe I have to work a little on my compositions with the Batis. The Batis composition above was a little forced due to the lighting.
I will say I'm very tempted to replace my ZE 21 with the Loxia though.
Spent a couple of days after Christmas escaping the heat in some native rain-forest near home - very difficult for photography given the clear skies and bright sun, with light under the canopy almost impossible - here are a few attempts to capture the sense of it... John

My A7R was retired to Time Lapse duties when I picked up my 5DsR 6 months ago. However, I could resist no longer and purchased the A7RII at the Boxing Day sales. Had my first shoot with it today at Cathedral Rocks, Kiama NSW. Just processed the first two images, and yes the dynamic range is as advertised. The first image is a single frame (Zeiss 15mm ZE f2.8). The second image required some focus stacking (Canon 24-70mm f2.8II @ 24mm)

Thats an awesome demonstration of what a fast WA can do.
Phillip - I was fortunately allowed in with my tripod, so these are not hand held. That being said, I felt a bit intrusive so I rushed too much (should have used f11 throughout). Btw nice colors, great to see you using a K-series Pentax and congrats on the Olympus 100/2!
