Great images! What's your opinion of the 35/1.7?
Thanks, John. I love it for its size and compactness, which is important for me, given where I take it - its definitely a much sharper and better corrected lens than the FDn 35/2 I'd used previously, very good central sharpness wide open for closer subjects, with nice oof, and good for landscape when stopped down to F/8, provided that you manage the curvature, which gives soft corners if infinity focused - sorting out hyperfocal distances really helped, so that now I largely prefocus and shoot away, confident that I'll have good performance. I also looked at the newer Zeiss offerings in this focal length, but view the Loxia as expensive, the Distagon as both heavy and expensive, and the Sonnar not all that good a performer in the corners. Overall, I'm very happy with it. It gave some purple fringing on the A7R but not on the RII
Recent move to a Sony A7ii and the Zeiss Batis 25mm. Pretty happy with the move. I've been searching for a good WA replacement for documenting my family. I left Nikon and a 24mm 1.4g so I didn't have to lug a large body around (I sometimes still regret the move... I think).
Anyway, nothing mind-blowing, here. Just my son being real, and me being really pleased with how the Batis 25 renders.
A7RII + 300/4.5 ED-AI Nikkor. Heavy Crop. The waters of Puget Sound were much warmer than the cold air and hence there was a lot of thermal distortion of the image at 100%, but still came out OK.

We need to arrange to run into each other sometime around Seattle Taylor! Nice as always.

Thanks! Great shot of the ferries. I don't think I've seen another person with an A7 in hand in Seattle when I've been out and about - seems like chances are that if I did, it'd be you, Mike, Darrel, or perhaps Dale!
