I just took ownership of a Voigtlander Ultron 35/1.7. Mr. Reeve, thank you for your review of the lens! Here are some of the first random shots. I love the size of this lens and the look is typically 'Voigtlander'. I'll be comparing this to the FE35/1.4 over the coming days.
Bob, really looking forward to your comparison. I also own the FE 35/1.4 but I find it so big and heavy - I now have buyer's remorse, especially after reading Philippe's glowing review on the Voigtlander. Very nice shots by the way!
Congratulations on your new lens Bob! I too am looking forward to your comparison. Today I found a really cheap Nokton 50/1.5 VM which I hope can replace my CY 50/1.7 for hiking and light traveling. (The Contax is a pretty nice lens, but its bokeh can be really busy, it flares too easily and I'm starting to like the Voigtländer sunstars.) If I like the 50/1.5 and your impression of the 35/1.7 is positive I may buy that one too, since I have missed the 35mm focal length since I sold my RX1 some months ago.
Been very light shooting as of late (video game season and school never ends) Nabbed a shot today with the A7ii and 55 @ f/4, I just liked how this tree looked (sunlight profile applied via Xrite). 100% overcast weather, very minor edits.
