Rick, are these $1000 + knives that sushi chefs use?
Douglas,
They were around $250 list .. I think during a Sale I paid $150-200 ea. I believe they discontinued those models, but similar ones are now available.
Sushi knives are usually long and thin .. beveled on one side only. Here is an ad for a Shun Sushi knife. They can be very expensive .. this one is not.
Photo taken the evening of August 11, 2015 about 11 minutes after sunset Big Meadows, Shenandoah NP, Virginia. I had been photographing deer and the long telephoto lens was mounted on the camera. Image taken with my tripod mounted Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 400, lens set to about f11 for 1/160 second. Processed in LR6.
Luz, one of my shooting buddies, invited us to visit her home town after the wedding of her nephew in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. Lake Camecuaro is located within a few miles from her hometown and here are 3 images taken at the lake. There are a lot mature cypress trees that grow at the lake. Some of them are reported to be 300+ years old. Their root system, partly going into the water, is massive and quite photogenic.

Amazing images and location Joshua! Really nice capture of some beautiful trees. I think San Miguel Allende is the winter home of Michael Reichmann of the Luminous Landscape. Through your images, I can see why.
