I'm no astrophotographer but here is my first attempt with the A7Rii.
2.5 min total integration. White zone. 10 JPEGs stacked. NO darks. NO flats. NO bias. Tracking with Advanced VX Celestron Mount, calibration via StarSense. Scope was the Astrotech AT65 EDQ. Shooting with a Canon owner who admitted there is no way he could have done same with the 60DA in these light polluted conditions and in a total of 2.5 min. Special thanks to NavyDoc/Gene who gave me the scoop on manual zoom focus! No doubt the AT65 is a 'special' scope and I am blown away by the A7Rii
Currently in Sri Lanka for a couple of weeks, yesterday we went out fishing with the chef from our hotel, later that night he cooked what we caught over open fire at the beach.

I'd say that you now qualify as an astrophotographer MedicineMan404! This is gorgeous! Nice work. I'm not sure what "NO darks. NO flats. NO bias." means...can you explain?
Some fall shots from around Connecticut. (This is a repost to fix a Jpg conversion problem with my PS action).
It was a wonderful fall morning. While setting up my tripod on a large rock out in the middle of the river an adult bald eagle came soaring down in front of me for a fish. I wish I wasn't precariously balancing on that rock trying to level my tripod at the time it would have been a great shot to grab. Then I watched as 4 juvenile bald eagles fished up river from my spot. Not to be out done by the eagles a black bear cub scampered in front of my car as I drove away from the river bank on my way to a new spot! What a morning!
Thanks, ebookman, for the thorough response, which not only helps on the surface, but confirms that I'm in the right neighborhood in the shooting-technique department. And you've reminded me that I'm far overdue to swap the PhotoPills application from my defunct iPhone to the newer model!

Hi Chuck,
I love these fall images, but, at least to my eyes, they look a little fuzzy. Is anyone else seeing this? #1 and #4 are most noticeable to me. I don't think it's a focus issue, and given the hardware you're using I know the pixels are there (and they're optimized in every which way with that glass). I'm not sure if it's the way you uploaded or not, but I do think these could look even better.

Jon,
Thank you my PS action that I used got corrupted and the quality setting in the jpg compression was way off. I fixed it and reposted them. Thanks for pointing it out!
I just love the colors you get, Joshua. This whole Barcelona series has been phenomenal.
If you don't mind me asking, how do you process these? You shoot raw? You using LR or more elaborate PS work?
