Charles, thank you! Your images of the three ladies at that winery were incredible. That of the little girl ^^ is amazing. I am glad you are enjoying that EF 85mm f/1.2 Mk II lens. That would be my lens of choice for that purpose.
Thank you very much Joshua It was your wonderful experience that lead me to find the 85L II, and it is really like a combination of the 50 Nocti f/1.0 and 75 Lux all combined, at least on the A7rII.
Ronny, thank you! You images from Iceland are seriously awesome! They are so impressive, making me want to go back to Iceland....for the third time !
Here is a shot of the pre-wedding fiesta in San Miguel Allende when folks started to arrive. Handheld shot with Batis (who would carry a tripod to a fiesta.... as a guest, at least ). An incredible location for a party! Mariachis for 4 hours, a lot of dancing and free flowing margaritas, beer, etc.
Joshua - beautiful images from Mexico !
Charles - I'm a fan of your portraits. Very natural, clean and honest shots.
Ronny - what can I say ! Beautiful pics.
Charles, no great lens will trump pure charm as a photographers tool. But you seem to have both
Phillip, gorgeous
Love the cityscapes, Joshua
Ronny, #1 for me, both sets
I've been away from here lately and I come back and find the quality images just keep coming...really, I don't know how some of you produce such great work day after day! Adding a reply here is the equivalent of using an eye-dropper to add a drop of water to the stream of a fire hose! Kudos to all for such inspirational work.
My "drop of water" for today...
My wife and I took a tour of the dunes in Provincetown (Massachusetts) this past Sunday. These dunes are a place I used to visit during summer vacations some 45 years ago and I haven't been on them since. An excellent 1-hour tour with incredible scenery and some interesting history regarding the many dune shacks, first built in the 1800's, that are still in use. Artists and writers such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Koonig, Eugene O'Neil, Jack Keroac, Tennesse Williams and others stayed here and created some of their most important work (Tennessee Williams was said to have written some, or all, of "A Streetcar Named Desire" while living in one of these shacks). An amazing little Oasis at the tip of Cape Cod and highly recommended if you visit.
A few more images from Spain, from La Sagrada Familia designed by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona. The first two images are from one side of the church, depicting the birth of Jesus and the 3rd image depicts the death of Jesus. The construction has been going on for over 100 years and not near to be completed. Rumors have it "when" or more likely "if" the construction would be completed, it would have to function as a church, severely limiting the number of visitors. Worse yet, a church can only accept donation and could not charge any entry fees. The way it looks right now, the "church" is generating a sizable income to the city of Barcelona. Right now, tourists come by the thousands everyday to visit the "church".
Yes, the cranes are moving back and forth and the you hear construction noise inside the church, too.
It is getting a little tricky to keep up with this thread. But what a rewarding trip to go through a few pages and just seem some amazing images. I've decided to part ways I believe with my 35mm 1.4. I love the lens, but I'm starting to not love the bulk of it. I'm slightly regretting the choice, but I think in the long run my neck might be a little happier.
