I received the Voigtländer 15mm/4.5 III on Friday and immediately took a short bicycle ride to test it. Very pleased so far. It's much better than my C/Y 18/4 (sharper, smaller and easier to use). Definitely a keeper.

Beautiful Helena. Is the light fall-off added in post, or representative of the lens's characteristics?
Thank you! I haven't added any vignetting to these shots and think the main cause is the strong side light, but it may have been unintendedly "enhanced" by my post processing. If I can find the time I'll post some shots I took in town yesterday with more even light where it's easier to judge these things.
I can confirm your first impressions on that lens, new for me as well, my first post with it being the first pic on this page..
There is oc. vignetting but not really bad, super WA's must, for my taste, have some vignetting. The LR profile for the Heliar works very good, but overcompensates for vignetting. Distortion is quite good, to be corrected for strong architecture. Sharpness in the corners very good.
As a owner of the 16-35 FE you don't really need the Heliar. I bought it because of it's size and it works with my Leicas as well very good.
Cheers
Werner

Helena and Werner . stunning images with the 15 Heilar III . Thanks for the encouragement spend money . :-)
Living up north, I had to give this a go sooner or later. First snow in Skipsfjorden last night:
The Samyang does a surprisingly good job at astro with almost no coma even wide open.
A very small amount of purple fringing on the strongest stars and city lights is easily corrected in post.
The small size and weight makes it easy to throw in the backpack when I don´t want to carry heavy.
Cropped a bit past square, some perspective correction added.

The Ultron is certainly a nice lens. I think if I could keep only one lens it would be this 1.7/35.
It would be great if Samyang made a FF 2.8/18 or even better 2.8/20 similar to the 2/12 we still don't have a small high performance 20mm lens for the system.
Whistler was the site of most of the skiing type events during the 2010 Vancouver olympics. Obviously, the slopes are still pretty dry this early in the season.

Phillip, you're singing my song!
I'm dying for a FF equivalent to the Samyang 12mm f/2. I'd prefer the full equivalent, at 18mm (and I'll take f/2, or 2.5, because it opens up so many possibilities).
The APS-C lens is a gem. Crazy resolving power, well controlled for astro.

I'm very intrigued by this ultron as well. I tried the Nokton Classic 40/1.4 and enjoyed it, but not enough to keep it around. I did not really like the way it shot wide open.
Does the 35/1.7 play nice wide open? And is there any of that "smearing" that a lot of these VC lenses seem to exhibit on the A7 series?
Interested to hear more details from you or anyone else with the lens. I'm still looking to consolidate my lens lineup and comitting to one 35mm prime.
As to your 20mmm point, the FD 20 seems to do pretty well (I don't own a copy myself, but have seen it in action).

I think it works very well wide open but on the a7 series you will se a lot of field curvature. I am currently reviewing it: http://phillipreeve.net/blog/voigtlander-ultron-11-7-35-mm-review/
The Canon FD 2.8/20 works well on the a7 but you have to stop it down to f/11 for best corner sharpness and I wouldn't call it a small lens. After I bought the FE 4/16-35 I sold mine. Fullr eview here: http://phillipreeve.net/blog/canon-fd-20mm-28-review/
