Great shots everyone!
Joshua, superb portraits
I have just this morning picked up a mint Zeiss 85/1.4 ZA too for a very low price. I was fed up waiting for the Batis 85, so I needed an 85 for wedding coming up soon. Having the L EA4 for the 135/1.8 ZA this seemed to be good idea to compliment until we have some more offerings on the table. I am so pleased to see some shots from this lens as I was beginning to have doubts
I also tested another very nice lens this morning, the Zeiss 50/1.4 ZA. At least we have many options!
My first shot in the office this afternoon.

Congrats on the "new" ZA lens. Yup, buying a brand new ZA lens doesn't make sense. The original price of the Sony ZA lenses was so astronomical. They were priced when the exchange rate of the yen vs the US$ was high. Sony didn't bother to make any adjustment on the new lenses even after the yen relative to US$ decreased by 25-30%. Thankfully, the used prices have declined. I bought both the 85 and 135 lenses used as the price appeared to be a bargain relative to the new prices. Sony nor Zeiss didn't have any other offering in that FL. But still I would loose money if it comes down to selling them. But who cares, I have, actually still am enjoying both lenses though .
Both are extremely capable in generating great images. The rendition and the bokeh are pleasant. From time to time, I used it at f/1.4 and the images are still sharp. At f/1.4, the 85mm ZA is ⅔ faster than the Batis. However, the Batis doesn't need any adapter while the LA-EA4 lowers the light transmission by ⅓ of a stop. So, it matters only to the shutter speed and not the bokeh. And again, the ZA's aperture is f/1.4. It is readily available and less expensive than the Batis .

Thank you Joshua I ended buying in effect a brand new ZA 85/1.4 for 840 USD. At this price it is very worthwhile, until the Batis 85 arrives. I may end up keeping the lens anyway. I know for sure the ZA 135/1.8 has a permanent home

Good for you, Charles! What a great price for a new lens! I paid more than that a year ago for a used one .

Have enjoyed seeing your photos of Cascais, Poffelus - a few years ago I stayed there for several days while lecturing at the nearby marine institute. I had superb coffee each morning above the little beach in your last image, and caught the bus up to Sintra for a look around the palaces and the old fort up on the hill crest - a great place to visit.
Image below is to show that the Canon FD 100 F/2 can also capture eye detail, despite its age - not my usual subject matter, but shot for friends...
@navmannz: Thanks! I enjoyed my visit of Cascais and the whole region (Sintra, Cabo da Roca) very much. And I miss the great coffee in Portugal (not only the one in Cascais). I took the same bus to Sintra, number 403.. I have attached 2 photos of Sintra.

Thank you Joshua and Rene
Shot this evening of my 87 y/o Spanish father in law in Australia. Only a week here and still recovering from jet lag watching the Eurpean Soccer league.
Photo taken at 8:42 AM on June 8, 2015 of a cascade down stream of Dark Hollow Falls, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 lens, ISO 50, lens set to about f16 for 0.8 second. Processed in LR6.
