^ Dale - while the pundits give somewhat less than stellar reviews of the FE24-240, you constantly make me question whether this is the ultimate travel lens. There seems to be plenty of resolution in this lens and you make the most of it!

Very nice Richard! Looks great considering that it is a slower lens.... Benefits of high ISO.

Gary and Gregg,
Thanks very much. It took a bit to make this image come out this way as I had to work in the color adjustment for WB, start to push the file for contrast, to pull more stars, and to to push the color somewhat of the Milky Way especially for working at f4. A bit more noise than I would like and may need to run the image through NR software. Case and point that a faster lens and/or a new A7rII (my preference) will be of some real value. I was fortunate that I could get by with only ISO of 8000 and not go to ISO 12,800. All and all I was pleased for this was my first session doing Milky Way Photography. In the future there will be 1 or 2 taken with the R 28mm f2.8 Elmari V2 lens taken the subsequent night.

This. My girlfriend wants a zoom for when she's got the camera, and your images make the choice pretty easy.

Thanks Bob. This lens may actually be the ultimate travel lens! I usually carry it along with the Leica WATE 16-18-21. Like the WATE, the 24-240 often demands quite different PP at each focal length. It is a fun lens if you are a fast shooter and like slow PP. I take ten shots in the time I would use to change lenses.
Someday however, I am going to breakdown and buy a fast 35. I miss my RX1.
Here is a shot taken at 118mm, ISO 100, f/9.0 1/320 sec

René, superb B&W, as ever.
Bob, every time I think I am going to cancel that Batis 25, because it still hasn't arrived, your cracking shots revive my interest.
Werner,, great B&W
Basso, wow, what a view...
Michiel, for both a fine shot, and kind words
Ronny, as ever...
