So many great images and I would love to comment on all of them!
Please Fred do bring back the like/thank you button
Rene, great work with the 50 Lux, 35 Lux FLE. It is wonderful how these lenses render on the A7rII

+1
You can still give out likes.. but the aggregate no longer shows.
I want to be able to see them
Is there anyone who knows if Fred intends to fix this?
or will it be like this
I have been testing Mandler lenses on the A7rII, and so far most have been excellent. I hope to post some shots over the weekend.
So Far:
50 Cron DR (Non Mandler) is very good but some marginal softness at edges. Wonderful rendering and great for B&W conversions/portraits.
50 Cron IV ( Mandler) excellent at f/5.6 for far distances and even better at f/8.0. This lens is surprisingly sharp yet renders beautifully.
75 Lux Excellent and very easy to nail focus on the A7rII.
50 Nocti f/1.0. Excellent and easy to focus. CA wide open which is normal.
28 Elmarit II. Very nice! More testing needed.
After several days of messing around with what was "new" about the A7RII -- that it theoretically could AF well with Sony Alpha mount and Canon EF lenses -- and being pretty disappointed, I decided to go out and use the camera to (gasp) take pictures.
I've decided to concentrate on what the camera does well - which is take great pictures with native FE lenses and MF alt lenses.
Here are some from today. This camera makes me want to take pictures with small details, the kind of pictures that look good viewed or printed big. As such the images below are almost thumbnails, and I would ask you to click through to the larger links (1600px) to get a better idea of what the images actually look like.
These five images taken with the OM 21mm f3.5 -- clearly the sensor outresolves this lens, and there is some smearing at the sides, but it was a fun lens to use on the camera and makes me want to take a better (bigger) 21mm out next time.
Good points about the new Sony. Quite agree about the best experience being with native FE and legacy manuals. The former should be no surprise but I have been amazed by the resolving power of one old Minolta MD zoom, the final iteration 35-70/3.5 macro. I have had no issues using the camera with the LA-EA4 adapter and screw-driven A-mount lenses. Fast focusing and great resolution except the sensor outperforms the older lenses. Of course the AF is done here by the adapter rather than the camera. As for Canon EF, I have none now but I think we shall have to wait a while before being judgemental as adapter firmware improvements could make a big difference.
I particularly enjoyed your image of the four ladies in the cloister although, if you'll forgive the suggestion, I would have cloned out their bags and camera. Those taken with the APO Lanthar are great too.
