Wilhelm, either your A7 makes CV 35/1.2 II shine OR earlier samples I have seen from this lens has been ruined by bad post processing/too small presentation size. Textures look really nice on both of the building shots you posted to other A7 thread, and the orange building on page 9.

Samuli
Thanks Samuli for generous comment. I usually push some contrasts which helps textures, a good downsize script helps too.
If I were you (thinking about what you wrote in other threads) I wouldnt worry too much about handling verdicts at this point in time. We both come from Canon 5D2 which is a trademark for good handling gloves or not, but A7 gives a few extras from day one. And though the Canon will continue to rule some UI things I bet there are things to be discovered and appreciated from a new platform such as the tiny Sony.

Excellent as always Michiel, I really like your Window Dressing images
How does the 24-35 hold up in the corners?
Thanks
Thank mcbroomf!
I just had some (financial) succes with one of the Window dressing photos. Sold two of them, my A7r has almost been paid for.
I am a little more in doubt at the moment about this lens on the A7r, although it is better in the corners as my C/Y Zeiss 35-70. That lens has a very soft smeared upper left corner. I have to check this better because I used a Tilt adapter which could have been slightly moved.
I will try it out with another adapter soon.
I still have to try out so many lenses but social life and work kept me from it last week.
I like your pictures, but I don't think that MD 24-35 zoom is good enough for you! The chromatic aberrations really detract from the photos, IMO. It shows up a lot for instance on the edges of the roof tops of those buildings in the first picture.
There is almost no predicting how it will render from various lenses. It has a mind of it's own. It loves the CV 35/1.4 like I can't believe. Bokeh is softer and the corners are better than the 5n I think: need to verify that, but I think I can use it for landscapes! Of course it handles great on the camera.
Had a break in the continuing bad weather, so I went out to the local temple with the a7r and the CZ 135/2 APO Sonnar ZE. I am impressed with the raw files of this camera. The extra DR is helpful, especially since the shadows dont go to mush when they are pushed.
Is there an option where I can have these beautiful photos shown at a smaller size? This thread has the most A7/A7r photos on the internet, but with their large size, I often see only the left 1/3 or 1/4 before scrolling.
Uhoh, that 20/2.8 looks great!
I've got its wider brother, the 17/4. Sometimes I find myself wanting the extra stop. I think i'll sell my 17, and get the 20- since I now have the Voigt 15!
