I am posting my first images taken with my new A7r camera. These were taken this evening at Lockridge Park, Alburtis, PA just before sunset. I will include both the SOC version and the one that I have processed in LR5.3RC.

Which is more accurate the SOC version or LR5 ?
The camera was set for Auto WB. I find the same issue with my Fujifilm X-E1, but last evening it was close to sunset when the photos were taken and it was very cloudy/overcast.
So the basic color was not correct for the conditions so first I adjust the WB for cloudy. After that, I work in LR to darken blacks and shadows, adjust the whites and highlights, do the same for the curves, increase contrast a little, increase vibrancy, saturation, and clarity a little,
As to which is more correct, well we can't see the true color in some ways under those conditions, but probably something in between the 2 would be most accurate. However, most of us try to get the best quality image out of our images so we work on the files to improve them.
I truly wish Sony would implement non-CPU lens coding in A7/R menu. Using handful of non-CPU lenses during one session/walk requires making notes or a great [photographic] memory.
Trying the Sigma 35 1.4 around the house to see how it does in low light.
Focus is pretty fast for the low light shots.
Holding the camera by the base of the adapter works really well for me as well.
Great set Jack Have you sold Nikon800E or you should have two camera bodies?
going to get a new camera body next year (spring), I had high hopes for Nikon DF
I was disappointed.. the price and it was not more friendly to MF lenses etc
so I have to think a little more ... think I keep D700 and upgrade to a D800 or D800E body also, but Sony A7- R is interesting
By the way, I avoided deep embarassment of the silliest kind by the smallest of margins today. When I picked up my remote, I saw an A7 with a Zeiss f/4 standard zoom on it! I got very excited, and asked to try it out, and proceeded to make a number of shots, testing the corners, the boke, the flare, and then handed it back, with thanks, and a comment about how it isn't even meant to be out yet.
I got home, started getting the photos ready, and then I realised, to my great dismay, that it was the 16-70/4, not the 24-70/4. The shape is very similar, and I simply translated the focal lengths in my mind before I knew what I was doing. I have no idea what that lens was doing on a FF camera. Silliness.
Surpringly, the performance wasn't half bad. I thought this lens was meant to be a bit of rubbish.

I sent a note to Brian asking if he could post some shots of subject matter other than billboards and also include a comparison at 18mm with the Zeiss ZM18/4 which he has previously declared "OK" on the A7r. I would re-buy the ZM18 if it met expectations.
I doubt it will. I'm selling mine after a disappointing outing. Here's a before and after shot just to show you what to expect...
Are you going to sell the lens or sell the camera? I am not sure I followed which you wanted to sell.

- sorry, I'm selling the lens. The camera is awesome! I'm very excited to get my OM-->NEX adapter to use with my OM glass and I'm loving the 24mm f/1.4 Canon FD L on it already (no color shift issues). The weather's been crappy so no pics with it yet but the lens is gorgeous on the cam.

That's pretty bad Vern. It's unfortunate as that is such a great lens….
I agree. Brian Smith got me to buy it with his positive comments but for my uses it's not worth it. Not when OM and FD glass works so much better on it...
