My niece came for a visit this month. Lately, my plan is to get a photo every time family or friends come for a visit. I then will print a copy for them to have and a copy for either our album or to hang on the wall. I think the one with her and Rowdy will go on the wall

The artifact at the edge of the leaf that looks like sloppy editing is from the lens. But it also makes it look like the leaf is popping out of the screen a bit.

I just received this afternoon a copy of this lens, I was always curios about all the fuzz about it.
So far looks good, it is sharp wide open but the CA is really heavy at 1.4, it is normal on this lens at that aperture?
Congrats on the new lens! Yes the CA is common with this lens....part of the character . You also have to not mind the cat-eye bokeh balls and I find they have the onion look too. Not super sharp without some work in post. While typing this I realize how bad this makes the lens sound, but somehow it still has the magic sauce which I love. The first thing that hit me with this lens is the beautiful colours.....which is something I'm appreciating with your images also.
I just got mine, and it definitely has a decent amount of LoCA. Reminds me of my old Sigma 50/1.4 HSM (pre-ART model), or the Canon 85/1.2.
I only had it out once so far, and I am clearly at the bottom of what looks like a pretty steep learning curve to shoot this lens. You definitely need to check focus at f/1.4 if you care where focus lies.
I have no great results yet, but here's a couple photos shot with my GFX100S when I took it out for a quick first try. I hope the non-native camera is OK here. It performed really well on the larger sensor... no vignetting at any focal distance or aperture. I'm also excited to use it for candids on my Z9!

Thank you, your description really fit the characteristics of this lens. I was aware of the cat eye bokeh and not too sharp but CA is something I didn't expect to see on this lens.
The color definitely a great feature, I am enjoying the lens and happy with the results.
This lens definitely green fringes. I'm just learning how to pick my battles with this lens to be honest. Lightsearcher wrote:
