I'm qurious to know what technique other 58 shooters use to nail focus at smaller apertures. Especially when the subject is located outside or at the edges of the AF-area. (I guess this question is kind of relevant to all fast glass, but also taken the field curvature into consideration).
Today's wtf moment comes from my clinical rotation. I just got my headshot done for my badge at the hospital.
The setup? A D810 with the 58mm f/1.4,
shooting at f/8.
I asked the photographer what was up with that, and she told me that they just decided to buy that one. They had extra money laying around. Don't even get me started on the three Profoto B2s that they had as the headshot setup.

Best, Anders
My most reliable method is using live view with face autofocus.
