Took this photo last night. Was really impressed how well this did for night photography. It was slightly sharper than my Sigma 35mm which is quite the feat imo.

I meant to ask you Corey if that massive flare this week would be seen in your area; looks like it was.
The flare had no CME, which is what causes the lights. I headed out anyways as there was some hints at some geomagnetic activity regardless. Was lucky to catch these as there was very little activity.

Tonight and tomorrow night there may be increased solar activity though. I'm a bit confused by it all to be honest. It is overcast here right now so I'm doing my best to drink some Orange Brandy.

Stellar shot hardcore. I am surprised you didn't get longer star trails at 10 seconds with this lens. Its good to know
I got star trails at 13 seconds so I knocked it back to 10 and the trailing is very very minor. I wouldn't go higher than 10 seconds though especially with a D800

sometimes I get some really trippy bokeh on this thing
That swirl? $hit that's part of what makes this thing...to add that's a busy backdrop. Only a few lenses can render it as smooth and as good. The 58G handles it like a walk in the park.
