Photo cross posted in the Sony FE Image Thred and taken at 8:17 PM on August 13, 2015 of a Doe White Tail Deer and partially hidden Fawn, Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 640, lens set to f4.5 for 1/125 second. Exposure corrected by + 0.95 Stops and processed in LR6.
These are two photo's I took last week during a pause in my first communion photo-shoot, the shoot itself was very interesting, but not easy at all..
I realized again that I'm more comfortable 'registering' a scene than 'directing' it, but it's necessary to get out of your comfort zone every once in a while..
These were obviously not posed, I can't show the 'real' ones yet, they are unedited:

Absolutely beautiful all of this for the price of one Zeiss Otus probably maybe even cheaper.
Thank you! As for the cost, it was significantly less than that of an Otus...

Second shot from my newly aquirred FD 24/2.8 wide open on the Sony A7.
I wasn't planning on getting it but couldn't resist for $60 in near new condition. Haven't taken it for mipuch of a spin yet, but it looks promising. Love the colors from these FD lenses.
Yes, it's a really good little lens!
I have the SSC version, I always like the results when I use it, but I wish it was a little bit faster and perhaps a bit less sharp wide open, it would be more versatile and more useful for portraits, but of course that would also make it more expensive and bigger.
Some shots with the FD 50mm 1:3.5 S.S.C. Macro on Sony A7, they are all unedited and I think they are all wide open, first 3 are full size:
