It is ridiculous price .. many will go to Sony... A7R and A7
and about 3k for it in US..and it will cost from 3500 to 3700 dollar in Sweden
I hope the price is wrong !!
Sad .. I think I would love the camera and I love the design

Fail. It's like shooting a D4 (except it's not a D4!) with D600 autofocus, no video, retro look, and $1400 more. I think I'd just buy a used D600 and pocket the extra cash. The hell with retro look, lol
Not a fail to me. Count me in (after I've read a few real tests).
$2800,00 is for the early adopters, just wait a few months and the price will come down with 20%

Any news regarding the viewfinder? Is this going to be old school with split image? If not i am not so sure this camera is worth the requesting price.
This is really the only reason I would buy it. I wish it had a shutter that required manual cocking like the old Epson RD-1 had. I can't get over the price and the 16MP sensor. 24MP I could maybe justify, again if it had an amazing viewfinder experience, but 16, uhhhh.
It's half the price of a D4, kind of like an FE /2 was about half the price of an F3. I hope it takes off, I wouldn't mind seeing a 36MP sensor in a small, lightweight body like this. In the end, an A7r is probably going to be added to my Nikon gear when I need something smaller - assuming they get some good UWA glass goin' for it.

One would think that if there was a special feature to the viewfinder that Nikon would hype it, but alas no such talk from the Amazon listing.
Will have to wait until 9pm PST to find out the specs from DPR.

D4 guts, D600 AF, $2800 early adopter tax
That blows, 3 grand and it doesn't look like it has a hybrid VF, it would seem. How do you properly shoot old glass with that crap-assed f/2.5 optimized Nikon screen, no differently than my D700?
I suppose wandering the Highlands, sipping single malt and communing with your inner Pict brings on the zen of spot on focus at f/1.2.
My pre-order for the α7R stands, unless midnight DST (GMT -5) brings unexpected news from Nikon.

Actually the pictures 'sharpen' as you drink more single malt. Just be careful of over-sharpening, or you will will be blowing artifacts on your screen . . .
