While there are no actual trees IN the gorge...they leaf (pun intended) their mark all over the gorge floor. Was not prepared to make it past the last pool...if I knew or was ready ...I would have brought my DryZone Bag....but when the person trying to make their way on the right side fell in...I saw that as a reason not to pass that last portion. All I could see was all my gear getting hosed...so will wait patiently and over the next year will make my way back again and again with the proper equipment now that I know what to expect. I have zero problem getting wet....just want to protect my gear.
Man...I was so close though...it was tempting to risk it....
A brother & sister were hiking back there and took a picture of them. (Do this often when hiking...just being nice on the trail and giving them a memory) She is the one that fell into the pool. that's when I lost my nerve...the universe telling me not to do it. http://www.pbase.com/romansphotos/image/153075951/large.jpg

Thanks Justin!
Kevin: yes the log jam still is there. I used my new Korker fishing boots...they have interchangeable soles and I put the carbide tipped spike sole on for the logs....I felt like spider man. So now my only hurdle is the waterproof bag...which I already have. Its a few years old so will have to test in the tub first....see if the seals are still good.

Roman,
man it sucks that you were so close! I can't wait to see your pics when you go back with proper gear. It looks like a beautiful location. Great shots of the gorge area though!

Great shots, Roman! Its a beautiful location. The vibrant greens on the charcoal grey make for a very nice color combination and red/orange leaves make for some great contrast.

Thanks all!!!
Steve...yes..to shoot another day. I get to spread out my discovery over a longer period is all.
Kee....while I do agree...I love the west coast for its beauty...East coast has lots to offer as well. Beauty is where your heart finds it.
Mark - Rubber raft...funny stuff.
Heinz - It was too deep for me without my DryZone bag. If I would have had it that day...we would be having a different conversation. And you would have pictures of the falls.

I know right where she fell in. This summer when it was crowded 3 of the 4 people in front of me fell in the exact same spot on the right in the last pool. I opted to walk in the pool and hold my camera (in two zip-locks and a garbage bag) over my head rather try to stay on the edge and risk a slip and fall which most likely would have put me under water.
