p.1 #1 · Pigeon Point Lighthouse under the Milky Way
Congratulations to Conrad Tan for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
Haven't had much wildlife to photograph this summer, so I've been doing this stuff for a bit. It was my first effort at getting the Milky Way. I did a ton of research on how to find it, what apps to use, what post processing needs to go into it, what gear, etc. This moment where there was a light fog retreating back into the sea only lasted a few minutes after I got there. I was actually annoyed that it was foggy and looked forward to shooting later when it was supposed to clear up. I didn't realize it would add to the overall look of this scene. I hope you like it!

Hey Conrad,
That is super cool! Good job on capturing it, and in processing it. Those light beams are so sweet! Getting the Milky Way in the background is a real cool bonus.

Great shot! It's eery that Pidgeon Point is almost a carbon copy of Yaquina Head LH in Oregon... even to the point of land almost...... love the lights, great capture.

Thank you Jim! I actually have quite a few of these. I still need to get more noise out of it.
