I don't belive that I can get a charger / battery kit for $ 20 here But please show a link where I can buy it or ship it here for $ 20 (Denmark)

The charger/battery kit costs $20 more than a battery.

Oh, wait, the battery is so expensive that Sony should have included a charger with every battery. The charger only costs $0.01 to manufacture anyway

Sorry, but I find these complaints a bit exaggerated. yes, it would have been nice if a charger was included with the cameras. They didn't. Somebody is happy about that. Get over it.

It was a stupid move to not include a charger. I highly doubt anyone cares if you are happy or unhappy about that decision. Fact is they should've included a charger with a $2300 camera that eats up batteries. Of course it's a minor point and you can easily buy a charger. Little things make a difference, and this makes Sony look cheap.

Is this sort of like Canon not providing a lens hood with some of their lenses?

It is. My take on it is, don't you want your customers to enjoy opening the box to see you have taken care of them? And, don't you want your optics to perform as well as they can? Now they may have their own logic as to why they don't sell the 85 f1.8 without a hood - but it beats me. Not including a hood can only be described as contrary to all the optical engineering they do or else why include them with the whole run of L lenses?

All of this is not a deal breaker, it's just a practice that I find strange. You should open a box and find the kit complete - ready to shoot. Not have order something off eBay and wait.

Come on. Everything you need to shoot is included in the box. They do include a USB charger and a cable for charging the battery in camera. What they do not include is a second charger, for external charging. This is normal practice for all cameras that do support internal charging.

Yes we know, a new level of creation is possible with this camera. Never before seen images will be produced in the next year

I'm sure you'll find a lump under you're tree as well

I'll eagerly await the wonderful images from this camera. Looks like Sony has lots of stock and everyone that wants one can get it. Good to see they anticipated the demand well.

Anyway, lets get back to more images with canon lenses...

BH is showing in stock for the A7 and kit options. Sounds like stores in Asia (Hong Kong for sure) have stock of both.

I've read that the preorder demand was more than twice what was expected by Sony.

Also just checked B&H and they don't have any in stock and are accepting preorders on the AR7...which is the camera that is causing the biggest stir here.

How is it stupid? Why give away accessories that you can make extra money from selling? As is frequently pointed out when people complain about Canon not catering to their individual desires, camera companies are out to generate profits Shaving costs off your retail package and taking advantage of selling add ons are business decisions geared towards profits.

Right, they should leave out the battery as well. Could make a killing forcing everyone to buy expensive Sony batteries.

It's stupid because it makes them look cheap and gives people something to complain about. Battery life is shit and now you have to wait hours for the camera to charge. Even if its just the first time, that immediately leaves a bad taste when you are eager to test out a new toy.

Anyway, I'll sign off now...gotta prep my chimney so I can get my lump of coal.

You can walk into a high street store and buy one here in the UK.

Hi Harry:

I'll bet the lump of coal costs more than the charger. Sorry, the devil made me do it.

In truth, I really don't care about the charger as I'm not in the market for any Sony camera.
