A little lacking, if you ask me. That could be just a dirty sensor.
It matches what I've seen, however - using the A7 myself and seeing others' pictures of the A7 and A7R. I rarely, if ever, see the expanding-discs flare on A7R photos.

What bags or inserts are you using to protect your a7 when carrying it around? I still haven't gotten around to getting a dedicated camera bag since I mainly take my camera on bike rides. Looking for a smaller neoprene casing or something

I rented the A7R and 55 1.8, and after using it for a full day I have two observations:
1. The image quality is truly outstanding.
2. The handling/ergonomics/"joy of use" is abysmal. Not sure how to improve that...
Agree on the first point, as the IQ is amazing!
My love/hate with the ergonomics with the A7r has considerably lessened with practice, but in putting in perspective, it took me 6 months, to become efficient with the M9 RF focusing and methods, coming from DSLR's. It is a very new system, and the using the A7r does become a lot more intuitive, even the menus as you learn and delve directly to what you need. Of course, I do hope there will be firmware improvements, resolving the many niggling issues, but the A7r as it stands is very usable with practice. I find for family outings, and casual shooting, I am now taking the A7r with the FE 55 or 35 now, rather than the M240!

It's interesting that those that complain the most appear to be coming from other systems and have little or no experience with Sony while those coming from Sony systems (whether that be SLT cameras like the A99, or the RX1 or NEX) are much more comfortable with the A7r. I don't see a full day being enough to get comfortable unless you are already familiar with Sony and even then one day is really a stretch.

I dont necessarily agree to that. I come from Canon - hardcore OVF/fast matte - Manual Zeiss etc.
After now exactly two months with the A7 it's safe to say that the camera with regular manual alt lenses can be handled fast enough to get any type of "job" done. With compliments.
The problem I have with the FE55 is that it begs for the use of AF and I cannot get the feel for that. At least not yet. The lens is very nicely built but the manual focus by wire feel is not for me, I hope to discover some nice settings for that if I give up AF.

Why don't you press the display button? There are a few different displays available and some show the filename.
I already did and there's no file name at all on the information text on the lcd, only file counter, time the photo taken, etc.
But finally I found it using the tips from Beni below ...

Only works if you have it set up right. Menu/Play Icon/View Mode/Folder View.
Strange review format. Supertiny non-telling images and CV21 dismissed because of the hood (?) while the Rokkor 21 is recommended. When I had it I liked the colors but it ended with that except I thought it was the coolest looking thing I've ever put on the NEX. Both are inferior to a Distagon 21/2.8 but what isnt.
