I must ask why. This camera seems like a perfect fit to the work of yours I have seen in the past?
Just curious as both it and you would seem exceptional together!
Regards to all,

Thank you, it did have amazing quality but I just didn't really enjoy using it. If the procedure wasn't perfect then I could have got the same results with any camera. And so during a shoot with people I'd sometimes be thinking about the camera, not them or how I wanted the photo to look.
Also, I took exactly the same photo handheld with the 645Z and my x100T compact and couldn't tell the difference on screen. And I took two different photos with those cameras and preferred the x100T one because the lighting and pose were better.
In a perfect world yes, the 645Z shots will be better. In my world I'd rather have something smaller.

Thank you for your response and I certainly understand your explanation. I am pretty sure your work will be excellent regardless of what is in your hands :-)) I was just curious to follow your thinking!
Thank you,
Greg
You are posting some beautiful images! May I please ask what dimensions did you post this shot? It looks very good at this size! I have not posted here yet but have lurked. I hope to contribute here in the near future as tomorrow I should have my first medium format in hand. I have no cat so everyone here is safe from a cat first post :-). It may be worse than that as work will be in the way all week but eventually I will contribute even if it is just to take up bandwidth.
Thank you for any help you can provide as to what dimension post well.
Sincerely,
Greg

1600 x 1200 I like to post them big but some people don't agree. Not everybody has big monitors with enough pixels, although I suppose most photography junkys have bigger monitors.
First try on this thread and first try with new to me gear so go easy but all CC welcome and appreciated.
Reflections from this morning.
Have a great evening!

I couldn't quite get the top of the steeple from were I was so had to settle for this shot.
645D DA 28-45mm 4.5
Congratulations rxgolf on the new camera. I see you shot both shots at f14, was that cause of bright sunshine you stepped the lens down? Or cause you used a tripod and wanted to smooth the water out?

Thank you! F14 was because both were during or before sunrise and I wanted to play with longer shutter speeds, mirror up, etc. just as a first day fact finding outing. Unfortunately there was not a cloud in the sky and zero color came pre-sunrise. Therefore I knew I was dealing with mediocrity at best. It was super bright before the sun made it to me. BUT being first day out I had to shoot something .
Have a great day!

I shoot mostly handheld when I go out with it, of course its so cold out right now I don't want to mess with setting up everything to much. I've been using mirror up to when handheld I just compose the shot then release the shutter the mirror goes up and then a second or two later press again to take the shot, I seldom get a blurry picture. I would think with the Z you can go higher with the ISO I only get up to 1600 but still pretty good.
I recently picked up some Priolite Strobe lights. This is first shot with one MBX 500 HS light at f4.5 1/3200 Shutter Speed ISO 200 inside with strobe about 75 precent power.
No time to shoot so playing with the 645z for 10 or 15 minutes a day. These are totally snaps but they do teach me about high iso and hand holding.
The first is my close friend of 9 years - Tri (Triumphs Von Whirling Thunder)
The second is my little girl - Sissy (Chara Von Beizjagd)
Sissy likes to play bad ass
Tri is always calm but is the real deal Bad Ass when the situation arises
I will be posting much better pics once I get out with the 645z. I have many good ones but they were not taken with medium format. Anyway, these show a little motion blur but the camera is capable of good high ISO performance. I just could not casually be still enough at these shutter speeds. Besides, Tri was giving me his "OMG-another different camera" look.
Regards to all,
Greg
Out for our usual pre dawn weekend walk. These were high ISO and slow shutter for the most part. I am trying to learn what I can do with the 645z. I really plan on most of my use to be from a tripod. Still I want to know how sloppy I can be and get usable shots.
The 645z files can take a lot of abuse it seems.
Have a great weekend!

Of course 33 degrees and a cold creek make it a perfect swim day for a German Shepherd
