Jogasaki cliffs in Izu Peninsula - my favourite retreat. Been there few weeks ago during long holidays which sadly limited my movement somewhat.
Since digital back on RZ67 is limited to 8s shutter max (I made a mistake in a getdpi post) I had a limited working time on location. Took probably 10 shots total before it was pitch black and boring.
The result is somewhat Gustave Dore-esque. Some luminosity masking and highlight boosting in post.

Zhangye, Lenticular - thank you very much, guys!
Keep the shots coming - always nice to see!!
I wish I could take the shot from drawbridge to the left of the frame - but constant flow of revellers created amplitude incompatible with shutter under 1/500.
I think I need to make my way there again pre-sunrise, but weather in Japan been exceptionally rubbish this year. 6 typhoons so far in a little more than 1 month...
Ahhh back in medium format territory since selling my Phase One kit a year ago. Finally got what I've always lusted after, the 645Z. First frame is from my co-worker while on his break. He happens to be a digital film colorist so I thought it was only suitable to display him in the cinemascope aspect ratio. Next frame is uncropped, unedited. Both are from the Pentax D-FA 55/2.8 wide open. The 645Z is the best camera I've ever operated, and I've been around quite a few.
Film colorists should always be displayed in Cinemascope aspect ratio.
