Came back from a trip to Niigata prefecture. 9hr sleep over the stretch of 3 days, mainly driving and total of few hours shooting.
This image is pretty much the reason I made the switch to CCD MFD.
Nearly straight from the camera - minor adjustments in C1Pro. Lee 0.9 ND Grad involved.

Michiel - I also enjoy seeing your images of regional, ageing French architecture of functional or domestic buildings.
Dmitri - two very different but equally impressive images.
Something different from me - I shall probably inundate this thread with such images in coming days...a weekend photo shoot and tuition at a local aviation museum complete with flying 'warbird' aircraft.
This particular Spitfire was the last delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force, in April 1945. On Saturday last it was flown by Matt Hall, the Australian fighter pilot now competing in the Red Bull Air Race competition.
One more from Niigata trip.
2nd day I ended up right in the middle of the clouds. About 1km up above sea level.
Not entirely happy about the feeling of the volume in this shot, so I guess I will be working more at high altitudes
IQ160 on Rz67ProIID with 50mm. Shot at f11. This one is for David Byrne..
Rocks from Iragomisaki in Aichi, dated 200.000 years.
Curiosity got the best of me and the search for information yielded The Advent of Anatomically Modern Human.
So...here is the diary, I suppose..
