Under rain, ditch the tripod at the middle, it can't give me timing and frame quickly. Enjoyed the weather myself there along the rim. The Red light last maybe 5 mins or so, I didn't expect it and didn't prepare for it. Don't get any shot with it on my Nikon WA setup. A pity.
I really wouldn't want to chance such expensive equipment that way without some kind of rain cover like those made by Lens Coat as an example. That would be regardless of the maker. Water can do a lot of damage to electronics and even mechanically.
I still remember being in Yellowstone NP and as I recall got steam from a geyser get into the battery compartment of my motor wider for one of my RRSP cameras. I know these things were water proofed but it corroded the batteries and the battery compartment. Leica was able to solve the problem but I needed to purchase a new battery clip for the winder.
In my mind it is not worth the potential headache later.

Haha, I was kind of teasing there. Your comment definitely make sense. The rain is not heavy or I won't take the chance and I wipe it after shooting and put the camera under my parka. It is a selling feature but I won't look too much into it. I still trust my Nikon a lot more even without market crap. They prove themselves over the year. On the other hand, even I don't do stupid stuff on my gear, I never baby my gear too much, they meant to be used. If they fail, they deserve to be ditched
I have been hanging out primarily in the Leica picture thread, but I landed here in the Medium Format Digital Images Thread this evening, and I am thoroughly impressed by the quality and the variety of images posted here. I shoot primarily with the M240 and M246, but looking at the images posted here I am motivated to dust off my S2-P, and head out the door. Here are a few from my archives, all shot with the S2-P and Summarit-S 70.
Robert, love the first and last one, welcome to the thread, stay here
I see seldom people posting here anymore, is this an indication of current situation of MFD?
