Congratulations to Storm300 for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
I just received news a couple days ago that one of my pieces, titled "Sandhill Symmetry", won Grand Prize at a juried art exhibit here in Kansas. The exhibit, "Choreography of Cranes" is a joint show sponsored by the Shafer Gallery at Barton Community College and the Kansas Wetlands Education Center "to raise awareness of the precarious plight of the endangered whooping cranes and the daunting task of conserving their habitat". The art exhibit was juried by Peter Eades, wildlife photographer and painter out of Colorado. Needless to say, I am extremely thrilled and flattered to have won this award. The winning image was photographed back in January of this year at Bosque del Apache.
Congratulations, terrific and well deserved honor with that capture! Have observed and hunted sandhills some, they are fasinating birds for sure. I got a flyer in the mail from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center about the art exhibit, may need to make a trip down there.
