I am presently trying my luck with the Zeiss 135 APO. It should be an awesome portrait lens...

Anden, stunning portrait. Thanks for sharing.
Philip, Congratulation! 135APO is as good as it can get for anything if you can nail the focus

My 135 apo came in yesterday! So stoked to use it. Can I say depth of field ORGASM!?!? I do really like the focus on otus line more, but I think I'll get used to it .

Well the 135 APO ain't no slouch. I got mine just in time for the wedding. Both lenses are amazing and I have used a lot of lenses in my days. They render slightly different and there is an obvious FL difference but they surely are among the best out there.

I have the 55 Otus and 135 APO combo as well, it seems quite popular around here

Question: in my very first shots, I'm not seeing the expected 3D. For example compared to a Sony FE 70-200 f:4.0. Any reason for that?

I have not been able to use it a lot yet but my initial tests shows good 3D. I also have the legendary Contax 100-300 4.5-5.6 which has tons of 3D. That will be interesting. But with two kids to find the time...

I think the ZA135/1..8 has more 3d rendering due to faster transition from in focus to out of focus.some side by side comparison shots with new 135 APO would be interesting.

Charles K Is posting some lovely pics with the 135 f:1.8. I fear however, that, in my hands, it would prove less sedcutive.

according to:
http://www.dearsusan.net/2015/08/27/395-a-brief-review-of-the-sony-fe-70-200mm-f4-0-g-on-the-a7rii/

the 3d of the fe 70-200 is extremely good. must say I like this zoom a lot.

Yes, I saw those nice shots of his in the Sony thread!
Definitely a different rendering than the new APO. It has a little LoCA that the APO doesn't I assume and is maybe a touch less sharp but bokeh seems to be drawn less strongly from what I see from the APO. Both are incredible lenses. I got my my ZA 135 a long time ago on sale for $1300 before they raised their prices.

Anden, the new post from you show green tint on my un calibrated monitor, I know it might come from grass reflection, but feel the image will benefit from color hue shift a little.
BTW, how you like A7R compare to 5DII, especially color?

I agree. It was just a fast edit yesterday. Will redo it for the newlyweds.

I prefer the colors from the A7R. Especially the reds. I have had both cameras all summer but the 5DII was sold earlier this week.

Wedding.

I shot the photo in the link back in 2009 when the girl in the post above was just one year old. This one is from her parents wedding this year. Almost on the day 6 years later.

Anden, I am afraid your lens is showing some nasty wave-shape distortion. That you manage to make this distortion look like clouds, and a very nice picture, shows what a fine photographer you are!
