No. 4 in post 18 is f/5.6 I think.
No. 1 in post 19 is f/5.6-8. This is one of the photos where the sharpening and resizing messed up the buildings.
I find it very easy to focus on my 5DII with Eg-S screen. Having used fast manual lenses like the Contax and Rollei 35/1.4 is an advantage.
The sharpness at 1.4 is mindblowing. My Contax 35/1.4 is very very good but the Otus... Wow! I havenŽt had time to shoot landscapes on tripod yet but fall is just around the corner here so hopefully IŽll have some more to post soon.

Sharpness on D800E is really incredible. It is great for landscapes and environmental portraits. Hopefully, I will get some time to post them soon. Can't wait to use this lens in fall too!
I'm waiting for fall too. Or autumn as I prefer to call it .
Will eventually buy an A7R to get the most out of my Zeiss lenses but the 5DII does the job pretty well.
Check out the swedish photomagazine FOTO's webpage. They have published MTF graphs of the Zeiss Otus along with Sigma 50/1,4 Art, Leica APO Summicron-M 50/2,0 Asph and Leica Summilux-M 50/1,4 ASPH. According to FOTO these are the sharpest normal lenses on the market. Interestingly, Sigma 50/1,4 Art seem to be not far behind the Otus, despite the huge difference in price.
You can try using google translate on the text but if you only want to see the MTF graphs, scroll down on the page. The magazine apparently measure MTF on the lenses with an optical bench, no cameras involved. They also published high resolution pictures on the webpage.
Odd that there isn't a Canon lens on the page, even in the "Other" category where they weren't so impressed. Doesn't Canon have a lens which comes close to the old Sigma 50/1.4 and the new Nikkor 58/1.4?

The Canon EF 50 1.2 L comes close to the old Sigma 50/1.4, but it is correct that Canon doesn't have a current 50 mm lens that competes with the best now available.
