Excellent individual images, Kirk.
And to me they work even better as a story-telling sequence:
1. Struggling to get to altitude with such a heavy, squirming fish.
Then grabbing it with both feet to align it head-first and have a more secure grip.
And finally the landing and presumably the enjoyment of a (VERY) freshly caught fish dinner.

It appears you know what you are doing Kirk. I don't typically think of an osprey as a hawk and in fact I'm not sure how it's classified. But your shots are awesome!

Appearances can be deceiving at times Eric.
Thanks so much for the good words.

Awesome set, Kirk. I love them all. #3 is very special. It seems like the osprey spreading out the wings to describe to you how big is this fish. :-)

Many thanks for the very kind words Tam, most appreciated.

It looks like a lot of us are going to love this time of year Kirk if you keep putting up wonderful raptors like this set. Well the fish is kind of ugly but I won't count that against you Very nice work Kirk, as usual the techs are spot on making these a joy to look at. The last one super, love the pano comp you used to accentuate the wide elements. Great work my friend!

This is a really beautiful series. The final shot w the panorama crop is stunning. The mix of symmetry and drama make it particularly intriguing.

Thanks Dorian, really appreciate it.
Bolsa Chica and SJWS (see Thang's post) both have good Osprey activity.
I'm sorry I'll be out of town next week, I would have enjoyed meeting and shooting with you.
Good luck and have a great time on the left coast.
