On the 1st day of US Government Shutdown, I went to the most popular spot, Morton's Overlook, for the sunset.
Yes, there were traffic cones at the parking lot indicating clearly for "no parking". However the sunset I was looking for was right there, with very simple color display in the sky. I had no choice but going through one large gap between two cones and taking this shot.

Kee, nice shot of the iconic location.

Right Don!
I spent my time for sunset or sunrise at this location daily while I was at the Great Smoky Mountain.
Very nice location... I don't have to hike long miles... for this place.

Great composition and scene. The colours are amazing also. This would look great as a big print.
I just have a question on your choice of f/22 though. I know my shots are pretty much throw aways unless Im just using portions of blurred water at f/22. It looks like you could have gotten even better sharpness results at f/16, or even down to f/8 and still kept everything in focus.

First of all, thanks for your comments I am glad you like the shot.
Second of your comments on f number.. I was using TC 1.7 onto Nikkor 70-200/2.8. That could be the reason I was using f/22, but I am sure f/16 could have resulted in the similar in focus. But I will check more carefully next time.

You are an outlaw! Really, the opposing diagonals, repeating patterns, and blue tones, with the hint of fiery skies -- you hit on so many critical elements.
