No secret other than be very quiet with lots of patience waiting for the right moment.
A longer reach lens (800 + 1.4X = 1120mm) would definitely help along with a body that can handle high ISO very well since lighting in the rain forest is not one of the best for photography.
I was also behind a hide for some of the kingfisher shots.

I agree with all the wonderful compliments made by the others .
Because my thesaurus can't provide the appropriate words- I'll have to go with my highest accolade:

Fantastic set (again), Phoo. As with some of the earlier images, the exifs show that you were REALLY pushing it. The Niltava shot (1/400 @6400) is especially striking...barely a trace of noise and wonderful colors and detail.
